OUR HISTORY:

In 2011, when the Province of Sindh in Pakistan, suffered from the severest of floods, the Houston Pakistani American volunteers initiated and formed a collaborative of community organizations called “The Alliance of Pakistan Flood Relief Efforts.” The Alliance included more than 42 community organizations and media outlets.

This collaborative effort was known as the “Alliance of Benevolence,” which in collaboration with two of the top four-star 501 (c) (3) NGOs in the USA, ICNA Relief USA, and Helping Hand for Relief & Development (HHRD) along with the other community organizations.

The “Alliance of Benevolence” implemented several humanitarian service projects in the USA, Turkey, and Pakistan.

In 2017, during the unparalleled flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, the fourth largest Metropolis in the USA, once again, the Pakistani and other communities jointly started a new emergency response relief effort initiative “The Alliance of Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Efforts.”

Finally, in 2008, this collaborative effort was registered as a not for profit organization in the State of Texas under the name of “Alliance for Disaster Relief, Inc. (AFDR).”
