{"id":166,"date":"2020-03-29T12:25:37","date_gmt":"2020-03-29T12:25:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alliancefordisasterrelief.com\/?page_id=166"},"modified":"2020-04-06T07:29:17","modified_gmt":"2020-04-06T07:29:17","slug":"our-history","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/alliancefordisasterrelief.com\/index.php\/our-history\/","title":{"rendered":"Our History"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">OUR HISTORY:<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2011, when the Province of Sindh in Pakistan, suffered from the severest of floods, the Houston Pakistani American volunteers initiated and formed a collaborative of community organizations called &#8220;The Alliance of Pakistan Flood Relief Efforts.&#8221; The Alliance included more than 42 community organizations and media outlets.<br><br>This collaborative effort was known as the &#8220;Alliance of Benevolence,&#8221; which in collaboration with two of the top four-star 501 (c) (3) NGOs in the USA, ICNA Relief USA, and Helping Hand for Relief &#038; Development (HHRD) along with the other community organizations.<br><br>The &#8220;Alliance of Benevolence&#8221; implemented several humanitarian service projects in the USA, Turkey, and Pakistan.<br><br>In 2017, during the unparalleled flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, the fourth largest Metropolis in the USA, once again, the Pakistani and other communities jointly started a new emergency response relief effort initiative &#8220;The Alliance of Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief Efforts.&#8221;<br><br>Finally, in 2008, this collaborative effort was registered as a not for profit organization in the State of Texas under the name of &#8220;Alliance for Disaster Relief, Inc.
